BeerFlow Website v4

The BeerFlow® meter, with a keg coupler screwing on below and a beer line screwing on above.

Ultrasonic keg meter

No drop wasted.

Revolutionised stock counting & waste management. BeerFlow® fits between the keg coupler and the beer line and shows exactly how much beer is left, as you pour.

Why use BeerFlow®

Venues lose thousands in revenue every year on beer they can't account for.

Line faults, over-pouring, theft and training gaps all show up the same way at stocktake: a keg that ran dry sooner than it should have.

Dipping and weighing kegs can't tell you where it went. With costs rising and beer prices under pressure, every drop needs to be accounted for.

How it works

Sits between the coupler and the line.

BeerFlow® uses ultrasonic flow measurement to track every drop leaving the keg, and shows what's left in real time on its own display.

Drawing of the top of a keg with an S-type coupler clamped onto its valve. The BeerFlow® meter, shown as a photo, screws onto the coupler, and the beer line screws onto the meter and runs up to the tap. Parts are drawn roughly to scale. Our story

Built by people who've counted the kegs.

BeerFlow® was founded by two close friends and hospitality professionals who'd had enough of counting beer with slow, inaccurate tools.

The problem was never the beer.

As hospitality professionals, Luke and Harry had to count their beer with tools that were archaic and inaccurate. The new products on offer were quick fixes: expensive line-cleaning machinery and endless perfect-serve training programmes.

The real reason venues lose thousands in revenue every year is a lack of accurate data and accountability. With costs rising sharply and beer prices becoming unsustainable, it has never mattered more for hospitality businesses to control every penny.

After years of experimenting with new technologies, they found that ultrasonic flow meters could count beer with real accuracy. Working with their manufacturer, they built the BeerFlow® meter.

Developed with a leading ultrasonic flow meter manufacturer whose past projects include work with NASA.

The Kegcheck problem

Accurate only in perfect conditions.

Widely sold and used for 30+ years across the UK, USA and Australia,5,6 at an average price of ~£192 across similar lever-and-tilt tools,7 the Kegcheck sets out these instructions for an accurate reading:

The Kegcheck lever tool
  1. Disconnect the keg from the beer line
  2. Calibrate on a full keg before every stocktake
  3. Stand the keg on a level, undamaged floor
  4. Check the keg’s bottom rim is undamaged
  5. Free kegs stuck down by dried beer or detergent
  6. Tilt slowly until just off the floor; read before it lands

In a real cellar

Steps 01–02

Cellars are packed too tightly to pull a keg out, let alone line up a full one to calibrate against.

Steps 03–04

Cellar floors and kegs take a beating. Level ground and undamaged rims are rare.

Steps 05–06

More slow, near-impossible steps, just for one reading.

Get every step right, for every keg of every product you sell, and the readout is still a plastic line you eyeball against marks on the handle.
